Coupled with RFID technology, this state-of-the-art mobile asset management system provides uninterrupted real-time tracking and monitoring of palettes and/or items in transit via an interactive map. Palettes or other items are tagged with a selection of active RFID transponders. They are next introduced into a UITS® compliant truck trailer, container, or other moving containment unit that also houses an RFID reader and various sensors (temperature, movement, etc). The data collected is then transmitted via radio communication technologies such as a CDMA2000 or GPRS to a local server for processing.
Concurrently the application uses positioning systems such as GPS,AGPS,TV-GPS, or cell-sector triangulation to locate the containment unit itself. As items enter and leave the containment unit, the system detects and update itself seamlessly, bringing asset tracking to a whole new level. As one or more items are removed from the truck, condition sensors and pre-programmed logic instantly and accurately differentiate whether these goods are being rightfully delivered or not.
