This segment consists of consolidating site survey data and business requirements in order to develop a system that addresses customer requirements and the issues identified in previous phases. In particular, the specific vertical served is identified along with the nature of the operations that are carried out. With the required type of hardware identified, System architects assess development and planning against the customer’s specific requirements. Finally, system integration links the RFID middleware (S2S-OMS®) to the relevant ERP system application allowing the existing ERP system to carry out its tasks undisrupted.

System Design & Integration occurs by:
 Using Microsoft design tools like Visio by software and hardware architects to conceptualize the RFID System;
 Iteratively mapping or connecting customer requirements to the conceptual model;
 Manipulating Microsoft development tools to bring alive the designed RFID system;
 Software developers and Application engineers carrying out system implementation;
 A two fold process for integration by linking the software and hardware components, followed by linking the whole of it to the legacy system.

At the end of this step, customers receive a packaged software solution comprised of a business logic configuration builder and an application allowing a dashboard view of operations. Together with the necessary documentation (user’s manual, design requirements and acceptance testing documents, and conformity certificates) for a successful RFID integration, the chosen hardware devices (printer, reader, tags, etc) are delivered to the customer and installed appropriately.
